Recipe for Masala Chai, a warm and comforting Indian spiced tea:
Ingredients:
2 cups water
1/4 cup milk (whole or 2%)
2-3 teaspoons loose black tea leaves (or 2 tea bags)
2-3 whole cardamom pods, lightly crushed
2-3 whole cloves
1-inch piece of cinnamon stick
1/2 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
1/4 teaspoon black peppercorns
Sugar to taste (optional)
Instructions:-
Heat the water: Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan.
Add spices and tea: Add the cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, ginger, and black peppercorns to the boiling water. Stir gently.
Steep the tea: Add the loose tea leaves or tea bags to the saucepan. Reduce heat to low and let it steep for 5-7 minutes.
Add milk and sugar: Add the milk and sugar to the saucepan. Stir gently.
Boil and strain: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Remove from heat and strain the tea into cups.
Serve: Serve the Masala Chai hot, with or without milk.
Optional:-
For a stronger tea flavor, use more tea leaves or steep for longer.
For a creamier chai, use whole milk or half-and-half.
For a spicier chai, add more ginger or black peppercorns.
For a sweeter chai, add more sugar to taste.
